As we all know, Canada is one of the largest producers in the world of timber and wood products.

The country has vast resources in the area of timber of various different species. Transco has access to pine, spruce, Douglas fir and western red cedar lumber in abundance. The company can cut this wood for you in imperial sizes as well as in metric.

The company also has the ability to kiln-dry all of its products for export purposes, including timbers. This is of significant importance to many of our clients. You know how cumbersome it is and difficult in terms of additional costs in transportation to buy green timbers. Instead of paying the additional costs of transporting green, rough lumber, consider buying your timbers and beams kiln-dried from Transco Mills.

We can dry timbers up to 60 feet long. This is a great advantage for contractors, our distributors and retailers.

Due to the diversification of timbers in Canada, you have not only come to the right company but you are also doing business with the right country.

Canada offers many programs that can help exporters and importers from around the world get wood at favourable prices - ask us about it!

Transco Mills has developed certain programs which may help importers of wood. If you are buying from Europe, the Middle East or Asia, please do not hesitate to contact us about how we can assist you not only in searching for wood but also for assistance in export financing. We are here to help so for information about how to buy wood from Canada please contact us regarding all your wood needs.

The damage that the mountain pine beetle causes [...]

British Columbia, in particular, was hit very badly by the mountain pine beetle. The mountain pine beetle is a small bug that has attacked the vast forests of British Columbia, particularly the pine forests but not all pine forests have been affected by the mountain pine beetle. The damage that the mountain pine beetle causes is that it kills the forests by killing trees which it attacks.

The result is that the tree dies and the colour of the wood turns slightly blue Sometimes this is in the form of a hue and sometimes it is a relatively strong blue colour.

However, keep in mind that beetle infected wood is not structurally affected. Although wood has been attacked by the mountain pine beetle, it can still be used very effectively, as any other wood, for industrial and structural purposes. Therefore, this is a great opportunity for importers who are looking for industrial grade wood or wood for railway ties or even if the wood is going to be stained.

A lot of the mountain pine beetle wood which has been stained has the same appearance as any other wood. The mountain pine beetle infestation, can be of great benefit to you because we may be able to offer you fibre at a lower cost of wood for industrial applications. Many contractors, importers of wood, can use mountain pine beetle affected wood without any problems whatsoever. The only difference is going to be that this wood may have a blue stain, which in many applications is irrelevant. The structural quality of the wood remains intact. You can get top quality product at a lower price. Transco can help you and advise you if mountain pine beetle affected wood can be used for your application. Please do not hesitate to contact us about this matter. The mountain pine beetle, in itself, is a natural phenomenon and there is nothing abnormal about the mountain pine beetle as it has been around for a long time. Due to the old age of the forests of British Columbia, the mountain pine beetle had a field day here in British Columbia.

The older trees are affected in a more severe way by the mountain pine beetle than younger tree. Infected trees are being cut and the timbers are used for various different products, including dimensional lumber, timbers and many other applications. So don’t think that mountain pine beetle affected wood is no good, on the contrary, the wood can be used for many industrial applications and even applications where appearance is of importance. In fact, many people like wood that has this blue hue as this is very unique. For further information about our products and services, please contact us
